Located just 3 or 4 minutes walk from the Gloucester Road underground station with a direct connection to London Heathrow Airport. The Cranley is a true 4 star town house hotel for the client requiring a more individual and personal style of accommodation.Originally built as a gentlemans private London residence in 1870, the Cranley was opened as a hotel in 1990 offering 37 personalised bedrooms, each decorated in a different style.
The hotel is set away from the busy Cromwell road yet offers easy access to many well known local attractions such as Harrods, the Royal Albert Hall, the Victoria and Albert museum and Kings Road and Kensington High Street shopping. The West End including Theatreland and Covent Garden are a direct 10 minute journey by underground.
A number of the rooms boast elegant king-size four-poster beds, whilst the majority are furnished with equally dramatic half-tester canopied beds. Victorian horse-hair mattresses have been dispensed with in favour of luxurious sprung mattresses. Curtains and bed hangings are natural linen whilst the headboards and valances are hand embroidered; the beds are dressed with cotton sheets, large square feather pillows, and traditional pure woollen blankets.
Every room has an antique desk or writing table with conveniently placed power and telecommunication sockets; most rooms also have a separate table enabling you to enjoy room service without disturbing your work.
The bathrooms have traditional Victorian style fittings combined with a lavish use of warm limestone, whilst behind the scenes we have excellent modern plumbing with pressurised hot and cold water. With every room also having air-conditioning, you will enjoy the peace and quiet, and comfort, of The Cranley.
